Noted there that Elizabeth Toovey was buried 5 Jun 1834, Sarah Collcutt 30 Aug 1838, her sole executor Mary Godfrey Talmage, wife of Charles Talmage.

  • I give my sister Sarah Collcutt of St Aldates, spinster, £1400 in 3% Consols, the interest etc being paid to me by Messrs Fletcher and Parsons of Oxford, bankers, In Trust for her to receive the interest etc for life.
    After her decease I give the £1400 Stock and all due interest etc equally between the then living children of my sister Mary Basley, wife of Daniel Basley late of Oxford but now of London, broker.
  • I give my sister Sarah Colcutt all my simple contract book debts and the money owing to me thereon, In Trust to collect all the money owing to me for the following uses:
    • First to pay my funeral and testamentary expenses
    • To invest the remainder in her name and take the interest etc for her own use for life
    • After her decease I give all such Stock purchased by her, other money received from my book debts standing in her name, and all uncollected book debts, equally divided between the then living children of my sister Mary Basley.
  • All the residue of my goods, chattels, stock of coal, wood, faggots, horses, carts, hay, corn and grain and all my other my personal estate and effects I give to Elizabeth Toovey of St Aldates, widow, and James Toovey her son equally divided, but subject to the payment of such debts as remain unpaid on those things.
  • I appoint my sister Sarah Collcutt and Elizabeth Tovey Executrixes ... revoking all former wills

In the name of God Amen I William Collcutt of the parish of Saint Aldates in the City of Oxford Coal Merchant being at present in health and of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding but considering the uncertainty of this Mortal life do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following
First and principally I commend my soul to God who gave it and my body I commit to the Earth to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executrixes hereinafter named
And as to such worldly Estate as God of his goodness hath bestowed upon me I give and dispose thereof in manner herinafter mentioned that is to say I give and bequeath unto my Sister Sarah Collcutt of the parish of Saint Aldates aforesaid Spinster the Sum of one thousand four hundred pounds stock in the three per cent Consolidated Annuities now standing in my name the interest dividends and produce of which said Sum of one thousand four hundred pounds Stock being paid to me by Messrs Fletcher and Parsons of the City of Oxford Bankers In trust for my said Sister Sarah Collcutt to receive the Interest dividends and produce thereof as the same shall become due for and during the term of her natural life and from and immediately after her decease then I give and bequeath the said Sum of one thousand foun hundred pounds Stock and all Interest and dividends then due thereon unto the children of my Sister Mary Basley wife of Daniel Basley late of the City of Oxford but now of London Broker that shall be then living Equally to be divided amongst them share and share alike and in case there shall be but one Child of the body of my said Sister Mary Basley living then I give & bequeath the said sum of one thousand four hundred pounds Stock and all interest and dividends due thereon unto such only Child his or her executors or adm[inistrat]ors
also I give and bequeath unto my said Sister Sarah Colcutt all and Singular my Simple contract Book Debts and the Money due and owing to me thereon In trust that she my said daughter Sister Sarah Collcutt do & shall with all and singular convenient Speed as soon as may or can be after my decease collect get in and recover all such Sum and Sums of Money as shall appear to be due and owing to me on Simple contract Book Debts and in the first place to pay thereout my funeral & testamentary Expences and after payment then of the remainder of the Money arising therefrom my Will and meaning is that my said Sister Sarah Collcutt do and shall from time to time place out at Interest on Government Security in her name and the Interest Dividends and produce arising therefrom to have receive and take to and for her own use and benefit for and during the term of her natural life and from and immediately after decease then I give and bequeath all such Stock purchased on Government security by my said Sister Sarah Collcutt with the Money received and got in from my book debts and is standing in her name at the time of her decease & all such Book debts as shall then remain uncollected and unpaid and due and owing to me unto the children of my said Sister Mary Basley that shall be then living equally to be divided amongst them share and share alike and in case there shall be but one Child on the body of my said Sister Mary Basley living then I give and bequeath the said Stock purchased on Government security by my said Sister Sarah Collcutt with the money arising from my Book debts as aforesaid and all Interest and dividends due thereon and all such book debts as shall then remain uncollected and unpaid and due and owing to me unto such only Child his or her Executors or adm[inistrat]ors
and all the rest and residue of my Goods Chattels Stock of Coal wood Faggots horse and horses Cart and Carts Hay Corn and Grain and all other my personal Estate and Effects of what sort or nature soever and wheresoever that I shall die seized possessed of interested in or entitled unto and not hereinbefore by me given and bequeathed I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Toovey of the parish of Saint Aldates aforesaid widow and James Toovey son of the said Elizabeth Toovey Equally to be divided between them share and share alike but subject nevertheless to the payment only of such Simple contract debt or debts as shall remain due and unpaid on my own Stock of Coal Wood Sacks Hay Corn and Grain and personal Estate given and bequeathed to the said Elizabeth Toovey and James Toovey as aforesaid
& I do hereby make ordain nominate constitute and appoint my said Sister Sarah Collcutt and the said Elizabeth Tovey Executrixes of this my will hereby revoking annulling and making void all former and other will and wills by me at any time heretofore made and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament
in Witness whereof I the said William Collcutt have to this my last Will and Testament written and contained on two sheets of paper to the first sheet thereof set my hand and to the last sheet my hand and seal the fifteenth day of February in the year of our lord one thousand Eight hundred and Eight William Collcutt
Signed sealed published and declared by the William Collcutt the testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence who at his request in his presence & in the presence of each other have have [sic] hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses William Shayler Wm Marsh

Proved at London 2nd June 1814 before the Judge by the Oath of Sarah Collcutt Spinster the Sister and one of the Executrixes to whom adm[inistrati]on was granted having been first sworn by commission duly to adm. Power reserved to Elizabeth Toovey Widow the other Executrix
