  • My debts and funeral expenses are to be paid.
  • I give my copyhold estate (ie my house and homestall and other lands in Hailey), also all my freehold estate in Hailey, to my loving wife Sarah Godfrey and her heirs forever, she paying the following legacies:
    • £5 to my son John Godfrey.
    • 20s each to my sons Thomas, Daniell and William Godfrey.
    • 2s 6d to my son-in-law Joseph Haines.
    • 20s each to my daughters Elizabeth Tuckey and Mary, Sarah, Hannah and Jane Godfrey.
    • All these legacies are to be paid within one year after my decease.
  • I give all the residue of my real and personal estate to my loving wife Sarah Godfrey whom I make sole Executrix ... revoking all former wills.

In the name of God Amen I Daniel Godfrey of Hayley in the parrish of Witney
in the County of Oxon. Yeoman being sick and weak abut of sound and perfect Mind and Memory
praise be to Almighty God for the same Do make and Ordain this my Last Will and Testament in Manner
and Form Following First I Comend. my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God my Creator Hopeing Through the
Merrits Death and passion of my Blessed Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ to Inherit Everlasting Salvation
And my Body I Comit. to the Earth to be Decently Burryed at the Discretion of my Executrix Hereafter
Named and as for my Worldly Goods which it hath pleased Almighty God of his Great goodness to Endow
me with I Give and Dispose of them as Followeth Item I will that all my Just Debts and Funerall
Expenses be paid and Discharged Item I Give and Devise to my Loveing Wife Sarah Godfrey and her
Heirs for Ever All that my Coppy Hold Estate as well as my House and Homestall as all my other Lands Lying
and being in the Libertys of Hayley aforesaid And also all my Freehold Estate Lying and being in the said
Liberty’s of Hayley aforesaid She paying and Dischargeing all those Legacies hereinafter by me bequested
and Devised Item I give and Bequeath to my Son John Godfrey the Sume of Five pounds of Lawfull Money
