Transcriber's and Editor's Notes
He doesn't name his wife, but fortunately the Probate and Exhibition notes do.
Nor does he actually say that two of the Whittar girls are his granddaughters, but here they have been Summarised (and Indexed) as such.
The bequest to daughter Mary Whittar is probably two separate clauses, but the editor doesn't know where to divide them. She gets the chest, and the table is to be left in the house as a "standard" fixture, but the two chairs? Probably to Mary, but ...
A full Inventory is included.
The following details are believed to be true but should not be totally relied upon:
Testator: Son of John (1699 qv); Father of John (1699 qv) & Daniel (1731 qv)
  Translated and paragraphed.
with some of the standard preamble and "legalese" removed.
