Thomas Stone 1830 In the name of God Amen I Thomas Stone the elder of Standlake in the County of Oxford Yeoman being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding but calling to mind my mortality do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say first and principally I commend my Soul to Almighty God who gave it and my body I commit to the earth to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executor and my worldly estate and effects wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I give and dispose thereof as follows Imprimis I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife my house or tenement garden and premises wherein I now dwell with the interest of three hundred pounds now on mortgage on an estate belonging to Mr Knobs and in the occupation of Mrs Elizabeth Hickman situate in Standlake in the County of Oxford during her natural life Item and after her decease I give devise and bequeath to my son John Stone all that the aforesaid house or tenement garden and premises his heirs and assigns for ever also I give devise and bequeath to my son John Stone twenty pounds of good and lawful money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Item I give devise and bequeath to my son Joseph Stone his heirs and assigns forever after the decease of my beloved wife all that my house or tenement garden and premises which I lately purchased of the late John Tuckey situate in Standlake aforesaid. Item I give and bequeath to my Granddaughter Susanna Stone ten pounds of good and lawful money of the United Kingdom Of Great Britain and Ireland. Item I give and bequeath to my Grandson Thomas Bennett and to my granddaughter Hannah Bennett twenty pounds each of good and lawful money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Item I give and bequeath to my son Joseph Stone ten pounds of good and lawful money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Hannah Smith my Holy Bible with notes bound in two volumes. Item I give and bequeath to the four surviving children of my deceased daughter Mary Brown five pounds each of good and lawful money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Item I give and bequeath to my granddaughter Hannah Bennett all my china cups and saucers with six silver teaspoons which was my late wife’s. Item I give and bequeath to my son John Stone my house or tenement garden and premises in Appleton in the County of Berks to be sold ____ all my household goods and furniture beds linen wearing apparel and all moveable effects in trust nevertheless and to and for no other use or purpose but as is hereinafter particularly expressed and ordered and my will and desire is that a moderate valuation may be set upon the whole in order that such of my children as shall choose to take it at such valuation may have it towards their shares of my personal property and all my ready money and all securities for money and all debts due and owing to me at the time of my decease and finally all the rest residue and remainder of all my estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind or quality soever the same may be and not herein before given and disposed of I do hereby give and bequeath the same to my said son John Stone in trust also for the use and purpose herein mentioned and directed that after payment of my debts funeral expenses and the expenses of proving this my will that my sons Richard Stone, Thomas Stone and William Stone and my daughter Hannah Smith may each of them have an equal share of all the remaining property and effects which is not before willed or bequeathed in this my last Will which I hereby give and bequeath to them to be paid to each and every of them within one year after the decease of my beloved wife by my executor and I do hereby make ordain constitute and appoint my son John Stone sole and whole executor of this my last Will and Testament and Philip Eaton of Standlake to be guardian and trustee to see this my will kept and performed according to my true intent and meaning hereby revoking all former and other wills and testaments by me at any time heretofore left or made In witness whereof I have to this my last will and testament set and subscribed my hand and seal this eighth day February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nineteen Thomas Stone Signed sealed published pronounced and declared by the said testator Thomas Stone the elder as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other subscribed our names as witnesses thereto Philip Eaton Robert Robins Proved at London 8th July 1830 before the Judge by the oaths of John Stone the son and sole executor to whom Admon was granted having been first sworn by Com'on duly to administer |
