... I Ursula Androwes of Woodstock ... widow sick in body ... My body is to be buried in the parish church of Woodstock at St John's altar. I give 10s towards the gilding of the case where the Sacrament is kept at the high altar in that church, 10s towards buying an altar cloth, 6s 8d to the maintenance of the bells, 5s to the maintenance of the torches, a round pewter basin to wash in at the christening of poor folks' children and 5s towards the maintenance of the rood-light. I give my son John Andrewes the bed etc and all the other furniture in the great chamber at my decease, a great press standing in my closet, a great chest, 3 pairs of sheets, two pillows, a diaper tablecloth which was my grandmother's, one dozen napkins, one great pewter charger, 6 pewter platters, a pewter ewer and basin, two great latten candlesticks, the biggest pot, my best broche, a pair of andirons, my silver-gilt goblet with the cover, two silver spoons with angels, my best silver salt with the cover, my gold ring called a hoop, 20 ewes with their lambs, two kine, my colt in Hatfeld Park and two calves there. I give my son Edmond Androwes all the beds and furniture of the chamber where I lie, the bed and furniture of the little chamber within that chamber and the furniture of the parlour as they are at my decease, my second best pot, my best pan, two kettles, three wort-leads, a mashing vat, my best pair of iron racks, two broches, a dozen of the best pewter vessels, a ewer and basin of silver fashion, 4 candlesticks (two pewter and two latten) 6 kine, 6 hogs, 20 wethers, all the wood and hay about my house, 8 pairs of sheets, one dozen napkins, 4 towels, my gold ring with the seal, 6 silver spoons, a silver ale pot, the lease of my house where I now dwell and £8. I give to Thomas Andrewes, son of my daughter Joane, the bedstead, bed etc in the chamber next to the great chamber, 20 sheep, £10 to be paid at age 19 and an ale pot of gilt stone. I give his sister Ursula Andrewes the greatest bedstock in the chapel chamber with its bed etc amd the cupboard in the ambry in that room. I give to Robert, another son of my daughter Joane, £10 to be paid at age 15. Whereas William Mathue owes me £11 for the debts of my daughter Joane, it is to be paid to my executor for the benefit of Valantyne Androwes, Hercules Androwes, Anthony Androwes and Nicolas Androwes, sons of Joane. My executor is to pay it to them at age 18. I give to Richard Androwes, the boy in my house, £10 to be paid to my son-in-law Hercules Raynfford Esq within three years after my decease for Richard's benefit until age 16, and I wish Hercules to have his care and bringing up. I also give Richard two brass pots, two broches, one pair of andirons, one pair of sheets, one dozen napkins, two tablecloths (one fine and the other coarse), two towels (ditto) and one cow. I give Myles Barnes £5 to be paid at age 20. I give each of my godchildren in Woodstock one sheep. To every poor householder in Woodstock 12d, and I give all my corn amongst the poor there. I give my servant George Write £5 and the gelding which he usually rides on. To my servant John Tiler and Thomas Wood 20s each and their wages. I give Thomas Crosse, servant with my son Rayneforth, two kine, 6 pewter dishes, a little brass pot and a broche. I give Henrye Brewer one cow. I give the goodwife Lambley my best frock of cloth, and to Leonard Cave's wife my second frock. To Ursula Androwes, daughter of my daughter Joane, my new French hood, my damask kirtle and a worsted cassock. To Margarete Hulverdon my worsted kirtle and one cow. My executors are to distribute the rest of my apparel among the poor. I give my daughter Dorothee Rayneforth my gold ring with a turkes?, two silver spoons with angels, and a little brass pot called Jacke noble. Whereas I have an annuity of £20 pa out of the Manor of Hayles (GLS), I give the annuity to my daughter Dorothee Rayneford, except that my son John Androwes is to have the first half-year's payment after my decease. I give my daughter Joane my little silver parcel-gilt salt with the cover, and two silver spoons with angels. I give my smaller brewing lead at Davingtree to my son John Androwes, and the great lead and cistern to Thomas Androwes, son of my daughter Joane, with all the vats and covers there. I give to Ursulie Androwes, daughter of my son John Androwes, £20 to be paid at the day of her marriage. The residue of my goods, cattalls, jewels, money, debts and plate, my debts and funeral expenses having been paid, I give to my son John Androwes whom I make sole executor. I name my son-in-law Hercules Rayneford Esq and John Cupper, gent, to be overseers, and I give them 40s each for their pains. trusting that by the merites of Thine Christes passion he will accept the same amongest thelecte companny of heaven not withestanding my mannyfold synnes And my bodie I wille to be buried in the the half yeres rent of the same annuitie to be due at the next day of payment thereof next after my deceace Item I will to my daughter Joane my littill silver salt parcell gilte with the Cover and twoo silver spones with aingelles Item I will my lesser brewing leade at Davingtree unto my said Sonn John Androwes And I will the greate Leade there and the Cestern unto Thomas Androwes sonne of my said daughter Joane withe all the vattes and covers there Item I do give unto Ursulie Androwes daughter unto my saide Sonne John Androwes the some of xx li in money to be paid unto her at the daye of
