IN THE NAME OF GOD Amen I Robert Austen of Hookenorton In the County of Oxon shepperd being sumwhat infirme in body but of a perfect minde & memory thanks be given to God for the same Doe make & ordaine this my last will & testament in manner & forme following (that is to say) First and principally I give & hold up my Soule into ye hands of Allmighty God my Creator hopeing assuredly for eternall Life through the merrietts of Jesus Christ my saviour & Redeemer And as for my worldly Estate it hath pleased Allmighty god of his Goodnesse to blesse me withall I give & dis- pose thereof as followeth Imprimis I give devise & bequeath to my kinsman John Carter of Hooke- norton affores'd sonne of my sister Anne Carter Deced and unto the heires & Assigns of my said Kinsman John Carter for ever All that my one halfe yard land of Arrable meadow & pasture ground with the Appurtenances lying & being in Sibford Gower in the said County of Oxon & now in the tenure & occupacon of John Gilkes at the vine tree in Sibford Gower afors'd he & they paying out of the Same & out of such leagasie as I herein after give him the Sevrall Sumes of money & leagasies herein after by me given & be- queathed (that is to say) unto my Brother William Austin the sume of five pounds and to my kinsman Robert Austin granson of my said Brother William Austin the sume of five pounds, And to my Brother Thomas Austin the sume of five pounds, And to my Brother Mathias Austin the sume of Tenne Pounds, and to my kinsman John Austin sonne of my Brother Richard Austin the sume of tenne pounds, and to my kinswoman Marthah Carter the sume of tenne pounds. And to my two Kinsmen John Allan & Richard Allan sones of my kinswoman Anne Allan the sume of five pounds a peice All which said sumes of money I will shalbe paid within two yeares After my decease but if my said brother Thomas Austin shall happen to die before his legasie or sume of money becomes due to him then my Will is my Executor shall have the same, And if either of my said kinsmen John Allan & Richard Allen shall happen to die before his legasie or sume of money shall become due then my will is that the same shall be paid to their sister. Item all the rest & residue of my goods Chatles Catle & p'sonall Estate unbequeathed after my debts & legasies paid and funrall Expences discharged I give & bequeath unto my said Kinsman John Carter whom I make & appoint sole Executor of this my Last will & Testam't & I doe hereby revoke all former Wills by me made IN WITNES whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & Seale the nine & Twentieth Day of Aprill in the Fifth Yeare of the rayne of our Sovringne Lady Anne by the grace of God now Queene of England etc. Anno.
