Transcriber's and Editor's Notes
A number of sums of money appear to have been mis-transcribed at some point.
The editor has attempted to correct them in terms of the currency of the time (a mark was 13s 4d, ⅔ of a pound)
Sugworth Farm still exists, roughly half-way between Abingdon and Oxford, and the present Bagley House and Bagley Wood are very close to it.
It appears that she was paying for repairs to the whole road from Abingdon to Oxford.
The following details are believed to be true but should not be totally relied upon:
Testatrix: Wife of John (1538 qv)
  Translated and paragraphed.
with some of the standard preamble and "legalese" removed.
