  • my will is that my body be decently buried in Christian Burial according to the discretion of my Executor
  • I give my son John all my estate of Land, whom I likewise make my whole executor:
  • I give my wife Dorathy (if she mislike living with my son John) my lower house and homestall & £7 to be paid to her yearly at two half-year payments, the lop of the ash trees in the paddock close during her life.
  • I give my wife half my household goods
  • I give my son Compton £50 to be paid to him three years after my decease.
  • I give my son William £40 to be put out for his advantage when he is [age 14] & to be paid to him when he is [age 21]
  • I give my daughter Dorathy £50 to be paid to her the second year after my decease.
  • I give my daughter Mary £50 to be paid to her the second year after my decease.
  • I give my daughter Rose £50 to be paid to her when she is [age 21]
  • I ordain that if my son Compton or son William or daughter Dorathy or daughter Mary or daughter Rose die before the time come that their portions should be paid to them, that their portion or portions shall be equally divided between those that remain alive.
  • All the rest of my goods moveable and unmoveable I bequeath to my son John my Executor upon condition that he pay the aforesaid portions as is above appointed.

In the name of God amen. I William Ayris of Hempton in ye
Parish of Dadington in ye county of Oxon yeom’; being in perfect
Memory considering my mortalitie do make & constitute this my last
Will and testament in mann’ following.
Imprimis I bequeath my soul into ye hand of almighty God through ye
Sole … only merits of o’r Ld Jesus Christ
Item my will is that my body be decently buried in Christian
Burial according to the discretion of my Executor
ffurther my temporal estate I bequeath as followeth
Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my son John all my state of
Land, whom I likewise make my whole executor:
Item I give unto my wife Dorathy (if she mislike living with my
Aforesaid son John) my lower house and homestale & seven pound
of lawfull English money to be payd unto her yearly at two
half year payments, the lop of the ashen trees in the paddock
close during her life.
Item I give unto my aforesaid wife half my household goods
Item I give unto my son Compton fifty pounds of lawfull en-
-glish mony to be payd unto him three years after my deceas.
Item I give unto my son William fourty pounds of lawfull
English mony to be put out for his advantage when he
Is fourteen years of age & to be payd to him when he is one &
Twenty years of age
Item I give unto my daughter Dorathy ffifty pounds of lawfull English
mony to be paid to her the second year after my decease.

Item I give unto my daughter Rose ffifty pounds to be payd to
her when she is twenty one years of age.
I ordain that if my aforesaid son Compton or son William
or my daughter Darathy or my daughter Mary or my
daughter Rose die before the time come that their portions
should be payd unto them, that their portion or portions shall
be equally divided between those that remayn alive.
