Testamentum Thomae Calcott de Hookenorton in Com Oxon husb. Through the mercy of Christ obtayned by sheddinge his blood Which I Confesse all was gayned [blot] did man good Or shall doe as I trust to see ye heavenlie gods goodnes. In the land where the lyvinge be, y't find noe distresse In the [name] of God Amen the xijth day of March in the 3oth yere of the Raigne of Soveraigne Ladye Elizabeth by the grace of god of England Fraunce and Ireland Queene defender of the faith etc. 1595 I Thomas Calcott of Hookenorton in the County of Oxford husbandman, beinge sicke in bodye but of mind first and principallie I commend my soule to almightie god my Creator Trustinge through the sweet Passion and bloodsheddinge of my Redeemer and Saviour Jhesu Christ, to rest amongst the elect and blessed companye of heaven Secondarylie I committ my bodye to the ground from whence I receaved it to be buried in the Churchyeard of Hookenorton afforesaid Item I give to the mainteaunce of the said Church xijd Item I give to the poore people in hookenorton 5s to be distributed by the discretion of my overseers heareundernamed Item I give and bequeath to William my sonne my Free Tenement in hookenorton afforesaid so sone as my Tenant humreis lease is ended and also ij sheepe. And furthermore my Will is th't if it fortune my sonne William to decease before my Tenantes lease be expired that parte or portion w'ch I have before geven and bequeathed unto him shall remain unto my Sonne George if he be lyvinge otherwise to remaine unto my Executors hereafter named. Item I give and bequeath unto my Sonne George xxli ___ Item I give and bequeath unto my two daughters Margery and Gillian to every one of them xxli to be payd in the day of their marriage or within seaven monethes after. Item I give to my servant John Yngram a sheepe Item I will my bequests to be payd to my sone George at 20'tie yeres of age and to my two youngest daughters at 18'ten, the rest of my bequeaths to be payd within one moneth after my decease Item I will is that if any of my children doe decease before they shall attaine their said Ages or otherwise be married then I will that his parte or her parte so deceasinge shall Remaine to my other Children then survivinge and unmarried.
