The will date is given in the text as 1772, as confirmed by the probate clerk. Must be 1722.
John YOUNG is described as "cousin". Probably Nephew, unless he is the son of an earlier wife of Thomas.
The unnamed sisters were Sarah KENT, Ann NORGRAVE, Elizabeth BRAYNE and Tabitha YOUNG.

  • I give my sister Kent £100, my sister Norgrave £100 and my sister Brain £100, to be paid three years after my decease.
    If any of them die the money goes to her children.
  • I give my brother Joshua Collier and his heirs forever my part in the land at Ducklington, my part in Woodford Mill, all my land in Hailey field and the land in Ducklington.
  • I give my brother Joshua Collier and his heirs forever my half of the house I dwell in and the house that Mr Mather dwells in. I give my sister Young, Thomas Young's wife, £30 to be paid three years after my decease.

In the Name of God Amen
I John Collier in the parish of Witney in the County of Oxon
Clothier being weak in body but of sound memory and
considering the frailty of nature do make and appoint this as
my last Will and Testament this fifth day of March in the
year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred seeventy [orig sic] and
two in manner and form following Viz't Imprimis I bequeath my
Soul into the hands of Almighty God hoping for Salvation in
and only through the merits of his Son Jesus Christ and my
body to be buried at the discretion of my Executor whom I
shall after name Item I give to my three Sisters my Sister
Kent One hundred pounds To my Sister Norgrave One
hundred pounds and to my Sister Brain One hundred pounds
to be paid at three years end after my decease but if any one
of these my Sisters die I will that the said money be given to
her Children Item I give to my Brother Joshua Collier my
part in that land at Ducklington and my part in that Mill
called Woodford Mill and all my Land in Hailey field the
Land in Ducklington parish in Oxfordshire to him and his
heirs for ever Item I give my Brother Joshua Collier the half
of the house that is mine I dwell in and to his heirs for ever and
that house that Mr Mather dwells in and to his heirs for
ever Item I give my Sister Young Thomas Youngs Wife
Thirty pounds to be paid at three years end after my decease
Item I give to my Sister Hester Collier thirty pound to be

Joshua Collier all my Goods and Chattles whatsoever not
disposed of likewise I do make constitute ordain and appoint my
said Brother Joshua Collier full and sole Executor of this my last
Will and Testament revoking and disannulling all former Wills
