  • My body ... to be buried in Dorchester church or churchyard
  • I give my two daughters Elizabeth Dandridge & Ann Dandridge £90 apiece to be paid over five years: £20 apiece yearly for four years and £10 apiece the fifth year after my decease.
  • All the rest of my goods, my debts being paid & my legacies discharged, I give to my son John Dandridge whom I make sole Executor.
  • I desire Mr John Dunt and my brother William Dandridge to be my Overseers

In the name of God Amen. The tenth day of September
Anno Dm 1640 I John Dandridge of Drayton in the county of
Oxon yeoman being weake in body but of good & Perfect memory
thanks be given to Almighty God doe make & ordaine this my last
will & testamt in manner & forme followinge That is to say
first & principally I bequeath my soule into the mercifull hands
of Almighty God my creator & to Jesus Christ my redeemer &
through whose merits death & passion I trust to be saved, And
my body to the earth from whence it was taken to be buried in
Dorchester Church or Churchyard, Item I give unto my two
daughters Elizabeth Dandridge & Ann Dandridge four score &
ten pounds a peece to be payd unto them by my Executor-
hereafter named in five years next after my decease, (That is to
say) to each of them Twenty pounds a peece to be payd yearly for
the terme of four years after my decease & Tenn pounds a peece
to be payd unto each of them the fifth years after my descease, -
Item all the rest of my goods my debts being payd & my legasies
discharged I give & bequeath unto my son John Dandridge
whom I make sole Executor of this my will & testamt & I desire
Mr John Dunt & my Brother William Dandridge to be my Over-
seers to see this my will & testamt pformed And in witnesse that
this is my true testamt & last will I have hereunto sett my hand
& seale in the presense of those whose names are hereunder written
