  • My body is to be buried in the churchyard of Swalcliffe.
  • I give my little messuage in Shutford of one bay of building recently built westward from the old building, with its small plot of ground about 25 yards long by 17 yards wide (the ground of Madam Wickham [lying to the] west?), to my daughter Mary Eglington and her heirs etc forever, charged with the payment of £5 to my son James.
  • I give my son Timothy Eglington 1s.
  • I give my daughter Anne Blincho? 1s.
  • I give my four daughters £20 as charged in a deed which my son Timothy is to pay six months after my decease as follows:
    • I give my daughter Elizabeth Smith £5.
    • I give my daughter Martha Bradford £5, also one bedstead with its bedding, one table and frame, a form. a kettle and the broad barrel.
    • I give my daughter Hannah Gilkes £5.
    • I give my daughter Mary Eglington £5.
    • if any of them die without heir, their legacies are to be equally divided between [the survivors].
  • All the above legacies are to be paid one year after my decease.
  • I give the residue of my goods, chattels, household stuff, implements of household and [everything else], my debts, legacies and funeral expenses being paid, to my daughter Mary whom I make sole Executrix.

In the name of God Amen I Timothy Eglington of Shutford
in the parish of Swaicliffe in the County of Oxon Mason being not
well in body but in good & perfect mind & memory (Thanks be
unto Almighty God) Doe make & ordeine this my last Will & Testam't
in manner & forme following (y't is to say) ffirst & principally I
com'end my Soul to Almighty God my Creator & Redeemer trusting
in God's infinite mercy & the blood of our Lord & Savio'r Jesus X't
to be saved And my body to be buried in the parish Church-yard of
Swaicliffe afores'd in such decent manner as my Executrix hereafter
named, & other my Good Friends shall think fit there to remain
in X'tian burial until the Resurrection of all flesh which I believe
and expect And my Will and mind is y't all such due Debts &
Sums of money as at the time of my death shall justly appear
to be due & owing by me to any p'son or p'sons be by my Exec'rix
of this my last Will & Testament (hereafter named) well and
truly paid And as touching the disposition of my temporal things
First I give devise & bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Eglington
All y't my little Messuage or Tenem't of one Bay of building lately
built Westward from the old building with a small plott or
parcell of ground thereunto belonging, which S'd piece or parcell
of ground conteining in Length five & twenty yards & seventeen
Yards in breadth or thereabouts be the same more or less, which
said House & ground is situate standing & being in Shutford afores'd, the
ground of Madam Wickham west?, and this is to the use & behoofe
of the s'd Mary Eglington & of her Heires & Assignes for ever
charged with the payment of five pounds to my Son James
Item I give & bequeath unto my Son Timothy Eglington one shill'
Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Anne Blincho?

Twenty pounds which is charged in a deed in writing which
my Son Timothy is to pay Six Monthes after my decease parti-
cularly menc'oned & expressed (that is to say) Item I give unto
& bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth Smith ffive pounds of
lawfull money of great Brittain Item I give & bequeath unto
my Daughter Martha Bradford the sum of five pounds And also
I give & bequeath unto my s'd Daughter Martha One bedstead
with the Bedding thereunto belonging, One Table & Frame,
form, Kettle, and the broad Barrell Item I give & bequeath unto

my Daughter Hannah Gilkes the sum'e of Five pounds of lawfull money
of great Brittain Item I give & bequeath to my Daughter Mary Eglington the
the sum'e of five pounds of lawfull money of great Brittain But if either or any of
these my Daughters shall happen to die without heir, that their Legacy so
dying shall be equally divided between them and my mind & will is that
all the s'd Legacies and porc'ons given by this my Will shall be paid to every
of them one year after my decease And after all Legacies & porc'ons given,
the residue of all & singular my Goods Chattells houshold stuff & Implem'ts
of houshold and other things whatsoever not hereby given or bequeathed, my
Debts and Legacies being paid and fun'ral Expences discharged, I wholly give
and bequeath unto my Exec'rix hereafter named And I do by these p'sents
make and ordeine my Daughter Mary afores'd Sole Exec'rix of this my
p'sent last Will & Testament to be paid & perform'd In witness
whereof I the said Timothy Eglington have hereunto set my hand & seal
this sixth day of May in the Ninth year of the Reigne of o'r Sov'eigne
Lady Ann by the grace of God of great Brittain &c An'oq' D'ni 1710
Timothy Eglington Signed Sealed published & declared by the said
Timothy Eglington to be his last Will & Testament, revoking all other
formerly made by him & this only to be his last Will & Testament in the
p'sence of Us John Harwood Susannah Robinson Tho: White
