We Richard Ford of Kingham, yeoman, his wife Ann Ford, William Tymes of Sibford Gower, scribe, and John Twycrosse of the City of Oxford, yeoman, acknowledge ourselves to be bound to John Baylie ... £100 ... to the payment of which .... we bind ourselves, and our Heirs, Executors and Administrators.

Condition of this Obligation:
  • the above-bound Anne Ford, sister and Administratrix of the goods etc of Sarah Farran of Kingham, spinster deceased, must make a full Inventory of all her goods etc.
  • She must exhibit that Inventory into the Registry of the Archdeacon's Court at or before 1st Jan next [1677/78].
  • She must Administer all her goods etc which at any time after shall come into her possession.
  • She must make a true and just account of that Administration, at or before 1st Oct 1678.
  • Any residue of the goods etc, after examination by the Judges of the Court, she must deliver to whomever the Judges tell her.
  • If any Will shows up, and the named Executor(s) exhibit it to the Court asking to have it approved, and if she being asked delivers the Letters of Administration into the Court, then this Obligation is void.

nem bene & fideliter faciend. Obligamus nos & quemlibet nostrum
per se pro toto & in solido Heredes, Execut. & Administ. nostros firmiter per

The Condition of this Obligation is such, that if the above bounden Anne fford Sister
& Administratrix of all & singular the goods ch’ells & creditts of Sarah ffarran late
of Kingham in the Countie and Archdeaconry of Oxon Spinster Dec’d
do make or cause to be made a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the
Goods, Chattles and Credits of the said deceased, which have, or shall come to the
hands, possession or knowledge of her the said Anne or into the hands
& possession of any other person or persons for her and the same so made do exhi-
-bit or cause to be exhibited into the Registry of the Archdeacon’s Court of
Oxon at or before the first day of January next ensuing, and the
same goods chattles and credits and all other goods chattles and credits of the
said deceased at the time of her death, which at any time after shall come to the
hands or possession of the said Anne fford or into the hands and
possession of any other person or persons for her do well and truly Administer ac-
cording to Law, and further do make or cause to be made a true and just accompt
of her said Administration, at or before the ffirst day of October w’ch shall
be in the yeare of o’r Lord God one thousand six hundred seaventy & eight and all the rest
and residue of the said goods chattles and credits which shall be found remaining
upon the said Administratrix’s accompt, the same being first examined and allow-
ed of by the Judge or Judges, for the time being of the said Court, shall deliver
and pay unto such person or persons respectively, as the said Judge or Judges
by his or their decree or sentence, pursuant to the true intent and meaning of a late
Act of Parliament, intituled an Act for the better setling of Intestates E-
states, shall limit and appoint; and if it shall hereafter appear that any last Will
and Testament was made by the said deceased, and the Executor or Executors
therein named do exhibit the same into the said Court, making request to have it
allowed & approved accordingly, if the said Anne fford above bounden
being thereunto required, do render and deliver the said Letters of Administrati-
on (Approbation of such Testament being first had and made) in the said Court,
then this Obligation to be void, and none effect, or else to remain in full force
and Virtue.
