  • I give all my messuages, lands, tenements and other real estate to my wife Kitty Fitchett for life.
    After her decease I give [it] to my son Nathaniel Fitchett and his heirs etc forever.
    My wife and son are to fell no timber (except for repairs) during my son's minority.
    If my son dies under 21 without issue I give [all of it] to my brother-in-law Charles Fisher of Witney, blanket weaver, and his heirs forever.
  • I give £5 each to my brothers Charles Fitchett and Joseph Fitchett, to be paid if they come to Hailey to demand it.
  • My sister Ursula Fitchett may reside in the house where she now lives rent free for life, receiving the rents of the parts of the same house that she now lets to other persons.
  • I give all my personal estate, cattle, goods and effects to my wife whom I appoint Executrix.

I William Fitchett otherwise Fidgett of Hailey in Oxfordshire Victualler make this my Will as follows First I give to my wife Kitty Fitchett all my messuages lands tenements and other my real estate whatsoever to Hold to her my said wife and assigns for her natural life only and from and after her decease I give the same to my son Nathaniel Fitchett his heirs and assigns for ever But if my said son dies under age and without issue Then I give and devise all of my said messuages lands tenements and estate to my brother in law Charles Fisher of Witney Oxfordshire blanket weaver his heirs and assigns fore ever - and it is my will that my wife or son shall fell no timber except for repairs during my son's minority.

I give to my brothers Charles Fitchett and Joseph Fitchett five pounds each to be paid by my Executrix in case they or either come to Hailey to demand the same - It is my Will that my sister Ursula Fitchett shall reside in the house that she now lives in, rent free for her life - also that she shall receive the rents of the parts of ye same house she now letts to other persons for her life likewise - All my personal Estate cattle goods and effects, I give to my said wife, whom I appoint Executrix of this my will.

In Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this seventh day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety three.
