  • I give the house in which Robert Honour lives and the adjoining hovel to my well-beloved wife for life.
    After her death, to my grandson Robert Honour.
  • I give the other house and the upper hovel to my well-beloved daughter Mary Honour for life.
    After her death, to my grandson Thomas Honour.
  • I divide everything else equally between my wife, my daughter Mary Honour, and my grandsons Robert, Thomas and John Honour.
  • I give my well-beloved granddaughter Mary Jesset of Horton 2s 6d.
  • I give my grandchildren Marlin, Elizabeth, Mary, Ann, Martha and Gabriel Honour 1s apiece.

In the Name of God Amen, the 23d Day of Aprill 1757 I John Hale of Oddington by Oatmore in the
County of Oxford, being very sick and weak in Body but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be giving to God for the
therefore calling unto Mind the Mortality of my Body, and knowing that it is appointed for all Men once to die
do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament; that is to say, principally and first of all, I give and recommend
my soul into the Hands of Almighty God that gave it, and my Body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in decent
Christian Buriall at the discretion of my Executors; nothing doubting but at the general Resurrection I shall receive
the same again by the mighty Power of God. And as touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it as pleased God to bless me
in this Life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following Manner and Form: Viz;
Item. I give unto my well beloved Wife the House which Robert Honour Lives in during her Life and the Hovil
adjoyning to the House, and to my Grandson Robert Honour after her; Item I give unto my Well beloved daughter
Mary Honour the other House during her Life and to my Grandson Thomas Honour after her and the upper Hovil
and all thing that I have I Equally divide between my Wife and my daughter Mary Honour, and my Grandson
Robert Honour and my Grandson Thomas Honour, and my Grandson John Honour; Item I give unto my well beloved
Grandaughter Mary Jesset of Horton the sum of two shillings and six pence. Item I give unto my Grandaughter Children Marlin
Honour, Elizabeth Honour, Mary Honour, Ann Honour, Martha Honour, Gabriel Honour all one shilling
per piece, Item I give unt my well beloved Daughter Mary Honour the Fether Bed, and the other Bed to my Wife
Item I do nominate John Harris of Charlton, and John Lock of Oddington Excexete in trust
over to see that this my Last Will and Testament is Executed according to my Will; in Wittnes
whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the Day and year above Written

Signed, Sealed, published, pronounced
and declared, by the said John Hale as his

of John Harris and John Lock Executors therein named
they being duly sworn etc
