  • I give my brother John Hopcraft and my sister Hannah Hopcraft my messuage or tenement with the outbuildings, yard, garden etc at Deddington now in my own occupation, to hold for their lives and that of the longer liver of them.
  • After the decease of the survivor of my brother and sister I give the property to my nephew William Hopcraft, one of the sons of my brother Thomas, to him and his heirs etc forever.
  • I give my brother John and sister Hannah my messuage or tenement with the outbuildings, yards, garden etc at Deddington now in the occupation of my brother Thomas Hopcraft, to hold for their lives and that of the longer liver of them.
  • After the decease of the survivor of my brother and sister I give the property to my nephew John Hopcraft, the other son of my brother Thomas, to him and his heirs etc forever.
  • I give my brother John and sister Hannah my messuage or tenement with the outbuildings, yard, garden etc in Deddington late in the occupation of my father and now let to my nephew William Hopcraft, and all my other real estate (if any) not already disposed of, to them and their heirs etc forever as tenants in common and not as joint tenants, subject to the following legacies:
    • I give my brother James Hopcraft £5.
    • To my sister Mary Osborne £5.
    • To my niece Elizabeth Hopcraft (daughter of my brother Thomas) £10.
    • To my niece Ann Hopcraft (daughter of my brother Thomas) £5.
    • To my nephew and niece John Pratt and Hannah Pratt £5 equally divided.
    • All which legacies shall be paid to them by my brother John and sister Hannah within six months after my decease.
  • All my household goods and furniture, linen, books, debts, monies and securities for money and all my other my personal estate and effects, subject to the payment of my debts and funeral and testamentary expenses, I give to my brother John and sister Hannah equally divided.
  • I appoint my brother John and sister Hannah Executor and Executrix ... I revoke all other wills.

This is the last Will and Testament of me
William Hopcraft of Deddington in the County of Oxford Mason I give and devise
unto my brother John Hopcraft and my Sister Hannah Hopcraft All that my
my Messuage or Tenement with the Outbuildings Yard Garden and Appurtenances to the
same belonging situate and being at Deddington aforesaid and now in my own
occupation To hold the same unto my said brother John and sister Hannah
and their Assigns for and during the term of their natural lives and the life of the
longer liver of them And from and after the several deceases of my said brother
and sister and the decease of the Survivor of them I give and devise my said Messuage
or Tenement Outbuildings Yard Garden and Premises with the Appurtenances unto
my Nephew William Hopcraft one of the Sons of my brother Thomas To hold to
him my said Nephew William Hopcraft his heirs and assigns for ever I give and
devise unto my said brother John Hopcraft and sister Hannah Hopcraft All that
my messuage or Tenement with the Outbuildings Yards Garden and Appurtenances
to the same belonging situate and being in Deddington aforesaid and now in the
occupation of my said brother Thomas Hopcraft To hold the same unto my said
brother John and sister Hannah and their Assigns for and during the term of
their lives and the life of the longer liver of them And from and after the several

deceases of my said brother and sister and the decease of the Survivor of them I
give and devise my said messuage or Tenement Outbuildings Yard Garden and
premises last mentioned with the Appurtenances unto my Nephew John Hopcraft
the other Son of my said brother Thomas To hold the same unto him my said
Nephew John Hopcraft his heirs and Assigns for ever I give and devise unto my
said brother John Hopcraft and sister Hannah Hopcraft All that my messuage or
Tenement with the Outbuildings Yard Garden and Appurtenances to the same
belonging situate and being in Deddington aforesaid late in the occupation of my
ffather and now lett by me unto my Nephew William Hopcraft and all other
my real Estate whatsoever and wheresoever (if any) not hereinbefore by me disposed
of To hold the said Messuage or Tenement Outbuildings Yard Garden and Premises
last mentioned with the Appurtenances and other my said real Estate if any not
hereinbefore disposed of subject nevertheless to and chargeable with the legacies hereinafter
mentioned unto them my said brother John Hopcraft and sister Hannah Hopcraft
their heirs and Assigns for ever as Tenants in common and not as joint Tenants
I give and bequeath unto my brother James Hopcraft the legacy or sum of five
pounds unto my sister Mary Osborne the legacy of sum of five pounds unto
my Niece Elizabeth Hopcraft (daughter of my said brother Thomas) the legacy or
sum of ten pounds unto my niece Ann Hopcraft (daughter of my said brother Thomas)
the legacy or sum of five pounds and unto my Nephew and Niece John Pratt
and Hannah Pratt the legacy or sum of five pounds to be equally divided between
them All which said legacies I direct shall be paid to them respectively by my
said brother John and sister Hannah within six months next after my decease and
I do hereby subject and charge All that my said Messuage or Tenement Outbuildings
and Premises in Deddington aforesaid late in the occupation of my late father and now
let to my said Nephew William to and with the payment of the said several
legacies accordingly And as to all my household Goods and ffurniture Linen Books
debts monies and securities for money and all other my personal Estate and
Effects whatsoever subject to the payment of my debts and funeral and testamentary
expences I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my said
brother John Hopcraft and sister Hannah Hopcraft to be equally parted and divided
between them share and share alike And I do hereby nominate and appoint
my said Brother John and Sister Hannah Executor and Executrix of this my
Will and I do hereby revoke all former and other wills by me heretobefore made
and declare this to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and seal the twentieth day of April in the Year of
Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four William Hopcraft
Signed sealed published and declared by the said William Hopcraft as and for
his last will and testament in the presence of us who have subscribed our names
as witnesses thereto in his presence and in the presence of each other Saml Field
Saml. Field jun Wm East? all of Deddington

Proved at London 23rd of September 1824 before the Judge by the Oath of
John Hopcraft the brother one of the Executors to whom Administration was granted
having first been sworn (by Commission) duly to Administer Power reserved to Hannah
Hopcraft spinster the Sister and other Executor
