"Brother" Robert Turner may be a brother-in-law or even a very close friend etc.
"Kenyscott" could be Kencot or Kelmscot -- the former seems more likely.

  • My body is to be buried in the churchyard of Chadlington.
  • I give my son Thomas Huntslow the crop of corn now growing on the land of Jane Wisedome of Sarsden, widow, which I occupy, with the other two crops yet to come.
  • I give him all the corn now in the barn at Sarsden, both winter corn and barley; provided that he pays Thomas Hickes of Churchill the money due to him for feed barley, and also brings home 10 bushels of wheat and 10 of barley to serve my house at Chadlington (for this time only), any surplus to remain to himself.
  • I give him two long carts, one dung pot, four harrows; two ploughs ready furnished; two two-year-old heifers, one pig and two flitches of bacon; the biggest brass pot, one malt mill, one cistern, one garner, one bed, one coverlet, one blanket, one bolster (at Sarsden) with two pairs of sheets.
  • I give my daughter Jane Balyes and her children four bushels of corn yearly (two of wheat and two of barley) to be paid by Thomas out of the crop of corn at Sarsden and during the two crops to come and no longer, amounting to 12 bushels altogether.
  • I give my daughter Rebecka one bed with everything belonging, two pairs of sheets, one brass kettle, and £14 which shall be paid by Thomas out of the crop at Sarsden within the three years yet to come.

In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Huntslow of Chadlington in the Countie of Oxen yeoman, doe make this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following; being sick in body but in perfect minde and memory thanks be given to Allmightie God. First I bequeath my soule into the handes of my Blessed Saviour and Redeemer by whose death and passion I trust to receive free remission of all my sinnes, and my body to be buryed in decent and Christian buriall in the Church yard of Chadlington aforesaid. And for my worldly goodes I bestowe them in manner and forme following. First I give unto my sonne Thomas Huntslow the crope of corne now growing upon the land of Jane Wisedome of Sarsden in the Countie of Oxen, widow, which I doe occupie and enioye, with the other two cropes yet for to come, Item I give unto him all the corne now being in the Barne at Sarsden, both winter corne and barlye; always provided that he shall to Thomas Hickes of Churchill for feede barlye, pay out of it the monye due to him; and also to bring home to serve my house at Chadlington, Tenn bushell of wheat, and tenn of barly of the same for this time and noe longer, and overplus to remaine to himselfe. Item I give unto him two long cartes, with one dung pott, foure harrowes; two ploughes ready furnished; two heyfers of two yeares old a payre, one pigg and two flitches of Bacon; the biggest brasse pott, one Mault Mill, one Cesterne, one garner, one bed, one coverlett, one blankett, one bolster being at Sarsden with two payre of sheetes; Item I give to my daughter Jane Balyes and her children four bushell of Corne, two of wheat and two of barly yearely to be payd to her and her children, by my sonne Thomas out of that crope of corne which he hath at Sarsden, during the two crops to come and no longer, which doth amount to twelve bushell in the whole / Item I give to my daughter Rebecka one bed with all things thereto belonging, and two payre of sheetes, and one brasse kettle/ and also I give unto her the sume of Fouretene pounds of lawfull Mony of England which sume of Fouretene pounds my minde and meaning is shall be payd unto her by my sonne Thomas, out of the crope at Sarsden within the compasse of the three yeare yet to come. And also my mind and meaning is that my sonne Thomas shall pay out of it the sume of Fouretene pound towards the payment of my debts. Item I give to my daughter Anne Mansell one shilling; Item I give to my daughter Joane the bed which I lye upon, and one pott after her Mothers decease leaving her being under age, to the disposing of her Mother / All the rest of my goodes cattle and Chatle moveable and unmoveable, with the whole crope of Corne and hay lying and being in the East End feildes of Chadlington I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Elizabeth Huntslow whom I do make and ordaine the sole and onely Executrix of this my last will and Testament, revoking all former wills whatsoever desiring her to see the residue of my debts discharged withall other charges which may arise for my funerall; And in time that this my last will and Testament may be performed I doe ordayne and appoynt my beloved brother Robert Turner of Kenyscott and my beloved friend Thomas Harris of Chadlington the Overseers of this my last will and Testament given them for theyer paynes, one shilling a peice. In wittnesse that this is my last will and Testament I have sett to my hand and seal the day and year first above written.
