  • All my debts are to be paid.
  • I give my loving sister Mrs Mary Laserre my white satin gown and petticoat.
  • I give my loving sister Mrs Elizabeth Langston my cherry coloured silk gown and petticoat and all my linen and plate except a silver tobacco bow? which I give to my nephew Mr James Laserre.
  • If my sister Mrs Mary Laserre would like any particular pair of sheets or other part of my linen, she may have [it].
  • I give my niece Mrs Love Laserre my diamond ring, my silver snuff-box, a silver toothpick case, a silver buckle for her girdle, a pair of silver shoe buckles and a silver thimble.
  • I give my niece Mrs Jane Laserre my enamelled gold ring, a pair of gold buttons for her sleeves and my mother-of-pearl box in the shape of a heart.

  • All the residue of my estate real and personal I give to my loving sister Mrs Elizabeth Langston for life.
    If she dies without issue I give [all of it] to my sister Mrs Mary Laserre for life.
  • After Mary's decease my nieces Mrs Love Laserre and Mrs Jane Laserre are to have £100 each provided they outlive me and approve themselves dutifully to their father and mother.
  • After Mary's decease I give all my real estate, houses, lands, tenements, cows commons etc to my nephew Mr James Laserre and his heirs forever.
    If he dies without issue my real estate is be divided between his two sisters Love and Jane, but if either of them predeceases me it goes to the surviving sister.
  • I give my brother Laserre my silver tumbler.

IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN
The twelfth Day of July in the eleventh year of the Reign of our
Sovereign Lord George by Grace of God of Great Brittaine
France and Ireland King Defender of the faith & Annoque
Domini one thousand seven hundred and twenty five I Ann
Langston of Dadington in the County of Oxon Spinster being of
a sound and disposing Mind Memory and Understanding do make
and ordain this my last Will and Testament in Manner and
Form following First and principally I bequeath my Soul into the
Hands of Almighty God my Creator trusting in his Mercy for the
pardon of my Sins through the Merritt of Jesus Christ my Saviour
and Redeemer and my Body I commit to the Earth of which it was
made to be decently interred at the Discretion of my Executrix

herein after named as and for my worldly Estate which it hath
pleased God to bless me withal I give and dispose thereof as
followeth Imprimis my Will is that all such Debts as I shall
owe to any person or persons at the time of my decease shall
be payd with all convenient speed after my decease by my
Executrix hereinafter named Item I give and bequeath unto
my loving sister Mrs Mary Laserre My white Sattin Gowne
and petticoat and I give and bequeath to my loving sister Mrs.
Elizabeth Langston my cherry coloured Silk Gown and petticoat
and all my Linnen and plate except a silver Tobacco Bow? which
I give unto my nephew Mr James Laserre And if my sister Mrs
Mary Laserre hath of mind to any particular pair of sheets
or other part of my Linnen it is my Will she should have the
same Item I give and bequeath to my Niece Mrs Love Laserre
my diamond Ring my silver Snuff Box a silver Tooth pick Case
a silver Buckle for her Girdle a pair of silver Shoe Buckles and
a silver Thimble Item I give and bequeath to my Niece Mrs
Jane LaSerre my enamelled gold Ring a pair of gold Buttons
for her sleeves and my mother of Pearl Box in the Shape of
a heart Item I give and bequeath to Mrs Joice Appletree my
cherry coloured silk Lining and my Ivory Snuff Box in the Shape
of a Heart Item I give and bequeath to my sister Mrs Elizabeth
Langston my scarlet Riding hood with a desire that she should
give her Ridinghood to my Niece Love Lasserre Item I give and
bequeath my Moiety or half part of the house that John
Rous now liveth in to my servant Maid Katherine Wait during
The term of her natural Life and it is my desire that my
sister Elizabeth would do the same if the said Katherine Wait
surviveth her that she may have the Rents and Proffitts of the
whole house that the aforesaid John Rous liveth during her Life
and then it may return as hereinafter mentioned Item I hereby
give to the said Katherine Wait one gold ring All the Rest and
Residue of my Estate Real and personal whatsoever and wheresoever
I give to my loving sister Mrs Elizabeth Langston during the term
of her natural Life and provided she dyeth without Issue it is
my Will and I do hereby give and bequeath to my sister Mrs
Mary Lasserre all my Estate Reall and personall for and during
The Term of her natural Life and after her decease it is my
Will that my neice Mrs Love Laserre should have one hundred
pounds in Money and likewise my neice Mrs Jane Laserre
provided they are both alive at the time of my decease and
approve themselves dutifully to their Father and Mother and
after the decease of my Sister Mrs Mary Laserre it is my Will
and I do hereby give and bequeath all my Reall Estate houses
Lands Tenements Cows Commons with all the appurtenances
thereunto belonging to my Nephew Mr James Laserre and his
heirs for ever but it is my Will that if he dyeth without Issue my
Reall Estate aforesaid should be divided betwixt his two sisters
Mrs Love Laserre and Mrs Jane Laserre or if either of them
Be dead at the time of my decease that my Estate in Case
he hath no Issue should descend to the surviving sister Item I
give my Brother Laserre my silver Tumbler and I do hereby
make constitute ordain and appoint my loving Sister Mrs Elizabeth
Langston Executrix of this my last Will and Testament In
Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the day
a year first above written The Mark of Ann Langston Signed
sealed published and delivered by the said Ann Langston the
Testatrix as and for her last Will and Testament in the Sight
and presence of us and our Names subscribed as Wittnesses in
the Sight and Presence of the said Testatrix and of one another
