  • My debts and funeral expenses are to be paid.
  • I give the house, shop, garden etc in Long Hanborough where he now lives, with the adjoining piece of ground (bought from Richard Keen), to my son William Long and his wife Ann for life, and after the death of the survivor to his heirs etc forever.
    I also give him all my goods in that house.
    But William is to pay £20 to my son Richard Long out of the property within two years after my decease.
  • I give the house, buildings, garden etc in Hanborough where he now lives to my son Solomon Long and his wife Ann for life, and after the death of the survivor to his heirs etc forever.
  • I give my remaining term of years in my house, buildings, garden etc at North Leigh to my son William Long.
  • I give my sons George Long and John Long 1s each, to be paid within one year after my decease.
  • I give all my other property to my son William Long whom I appoint sole Executor, he paying my debts, legacies and funeral expenses ... I revoke all former wills.

In the Name of God Amen I George Long of Handborough in the County
of Oxford Carpenter and Wheelwright being of sound and disposing Mind Memory and under-
standing do make & Publish this to be my Last Will and Testament in Manner following that is to
say First I Resign my Soul to Almighty God hoping for Mercy through the Merits of
Christ my Redeemer, and my Body to the Earth to be deacently buried by my Executor hereafter
Named And I will that my Just Debts and Funeral Expences be paid & Discharged by my Executor. I Give
& Devise into my Son William Long All that House Shop & Garden & also the peice of Ground
that I Purchased of Richard Keen adjoining to the aforesaid Garden & all the appurtenance is [sic] that is to say
the House my son William now Lives in to him & his Wife Ann for and Dureing the terme of their
Natural Lives & after the Death of the Surviver of them to the Heirs & Assignes of my son William
Long for Ever, all which said Premissis are Situate in Long handborough in the said County of Oxford
but my further Will is that my said son William is hereby Charged with the payment of the sum
of Twenty pounds of Lawfull Money of Great Britan unto my son Richard Long to be paid him
(Out of the Premisses aforesaid) by my son William Long within too Years after my Decease
I Give & Devise All that House Buildings Garden and Premisses with their appurtenances therto
adjoining in the Occupation of my son Solomon Long situate & being at Handborough
aforesaid unto my said son Solomon Long and Ann his wife for & dureing the terme of
their Natural Lives & after the death of the Longest Liver, to the Heirs & Assignes for Ever
of my said son Solomon Long, I Give devise & Bequeathe All my Right Title Intres and Term
of Years yet to Come and unexpired which I have in All that House Buildings & Garden & premisis
with their Appurtenances thereunto Belonging Situate in Northleigh in the County of Oxford aforesaid
unto my son William Long & all my Goods of all kinds which are in my house which my son
William now Resides & lives in, I give & Bequeathe unto unto my son George Long the sum of one
pound one shilling I give & Bequeathe unto my son John Long one shilling ye Last mentioned
Leagacies to be paid within one Year after my Decease by my Executor All my Other Property not
not before given I Give & Bequathe unto William Long aforesaid whome I nominate & appoint
Sole Executor of this my Last Will & Testament & I do Likewise Charge my Executor aforesaid
with the payment of all my Debts & the within mentioned Leagacies & Funenaral Expences & Lastly
I do hereby Revoke & mak Voide all former Wills by me made & Declared In Witness Whereof I
the said George Long the Testator have hereunto set my hand & seal this Eighteenth Day of July
in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred & Eighty Eight

William Long the Son and Sole Executor in this Will named was
sworn to the truth thereof as usual and also that the Effects are
under One Hundred Pounds.

This Will was proved at Oxford on the 3'd day of October in the Year of our Lord 1789 before the
Rev'd John Cox Clerk LLB Surrogate of the Rev'd Matt'w Lamb DD Chancellor of the Diocese of
Oxford lawfully constituted by the Oath of Will'm Long the Son & Sole Executor therein named to whom
Adm'on was granted being first sworn duly to Administer.
