  • My debts, funeral and testamentary expenses are to be first paid.
  • I give the cottage etc in Aston Rowant next to the house where I now dwell to my dear wife Elizabeth for life.
    After her decease I give [it] to my son Thomas Rixon and his heirs etc forever.
  • I give my wife all the furniture in my bedroom, and such other furniture in my house as she may need to fit up the cottage decently.
  • I give my daughter Mary White £100 to be paid within six months after my death.
  • I give my grandchildren Harriet White £40, Edward White £10 and Mary White £5, to be paid at age 21.
  • I give all the residue of my real and personal estates to my son Thomas Rixon and his heirs etc forever, subject to the payment of 14s per week to my wife during her life.

This is the last Will and Testament of me Robert Rixon of Aston Rowant in the County of Oxford Yeoman ffirst I desire that all my just Debts ffuneral and Testamentary Expences be paid & discharged & after payment thereof I give & devise unto my dear Wife Elizabeth all that Cottage or Tenement & Appurts thereto belonging thereto belonging situate in Aston Rowant aforesaid next to the House wherein I now dwell To hold to her for & during her natural life & from & after her decease I give & devise the same Cottage or Tenement with the appurts unto my son Thomas Rixon his heirs & assigns for ever I give & bequeath unto my said Wife all the ffurniture in my Bed Room & such other Articles of ffurniture in my Dwelling House as she may want to fit up the said Cottage in a decent manner I Give & bequeath to my Daughter Mary White the Sum of One hundred pounds of lawful Money of the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Ireland to be paid to her by my Exor hereafter named within Six Months after my death I also Give & bequeath to my Grand Daughter Harriet White the Sum of fforty Pounds of like lawful Money To my grandson Edward White the Sum of Ten Pounds of like lawful Money and to my Granddaughter Mary White the sum of ffive pounds of like lawful Money to be paid to them by my said Exor at their respective Ages of twenty one years As to all the rest & residue of my Real & Personal Estates which I shall die seized & possessed of or entitled unto I give devise & bequeath the same & every part & parcel thereof together with all the Heredits & Appurts thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto my said Son Thomas Rixon To hold to him the said Thomas Rixon his Heirs Exors Admors & Assigns for ever subject to the payment of ffourteen shillings weekly & every week unto my said Wife for & during the term of her natural life by my said Son Thomas Rixon with full Power & authority for her my said Wife to enter upon & destrain my said Real Estate for the same in case of Nonpayment And I do hereby nominate constitute & appoint my said Son Thomas Rixon sole Executor of this my last Will & Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made & do declare this only to be my last Will & Testament In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will & Testament contained in two Sheets of Paper set my Hand & Seal to each sheet thereof the twenty first day of March in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred & fourteen Robert Rixon
