  • I give the following to my loving wife Mary Rixon:
    • All the household goods and furniture in the house where I now dwell.
    • £200, to be paid by my Executor immediatley after my decease.
    • The two messuages or cottages, malt-house, barns and stables in Aston Rowant now in the occupation of my son Robert Rixon and myself, with their outhouses, orchard, garden etc.
    • The close of meadow ground which was part of the Rush Moors, which was changed with John Cailland Esq [whatever that means]
    • The two messuages or cottages in Aston Rowant now in the occupation of Edward Smith and William Abbott, with their garden.
  • I give £200 to my son Thomas Rixon and £50 to my daughter Martha Croxford, both to be paid within twelve months after my decease.
  • I give £10 each to my grandchildren Richard, Mary, Thomas and Ann Varnom, children of my late daughter Ann Varnom, to be paid at age 21.
  • I give all the residue of my real estates to my wife Mary Rixon for life, but it is to be in full bar and satisfaction of her dower or thirds at Common Law which she may have or claim out of any part of my freehold estates.
    After her decease I give all the above residue of my real estates to my son Robert Rixon and his heirs etc forever.
  • After payment of my debts, legacies, funeral and testamentary expenses I give all the residue of my money, securities for money, stock of corn, cattle, goods, chattels and personal estate to my son Robert Rixon and appoint him sole Executor ... revoking all former wills.

In the Name of God Amen I Harry Rixon of Aston Rowant in the County of Oxford Maltster considring the uncertanty of this Mortal
Life & being of sound mind memory and understanding blessed be Allmighty god for ye same I do make and publish this my last Will and testament in
Maner following that is to say first and principally I recomend my Soul to Allmighty God for a Remission of my sins and my body to the Earth to be
decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix here after named and as to my Estates and Worly Effects I give and bequeath them as follows that is
to say I give and bequeath unto my loving Wife Mary Rixon all the Household goods and furniture standing and being in the House ware I now dwell
I allso give and bequeath unto my Loving Wife Mary Rixon the sume of two Hundred Pounds of Lawfull Money of Great Brittan which I do hearby order and
direct to be paid by my Executor hereinafter named immediatly after my Decease I allso give and bequeath unto my loving Wife Mary Rixon All those two
Messuages Cottages or Tenements and Malt House Barnes and Stables standing and being in the Parrish of Aston Rowant afooresaid now in the Occupation
of Robert Rixon my son and my self together with the Out houses Orchard garding and Appurtenances thereunto belonging I Allso give and devise unto my
Loving Wife All that peece or Close of medow ground which was part of the Rush Moors which said primises was chainged with John Cailland Esq'r I Like
wise give and bequeath unto my Loving Wife all those two Messuages Cottages or Teneymentes standing and beeing in the Parish of Aston Rowant aforesaid now in the
Occupation of Edward Smith and William Abbott with the garding belonging there unto I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Rixon the sume of two
Hundred Pounds of good and Lawfull money of Great Brittan I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Martha Croxford the sume of Fifftey Pounds of Like
Lawful Money which said Legacies or sums of money I do heareby order and direct my said Executor to pay within twelve months next after my decease I give
and bequeath unto my grandson Richard Varnom and grandaughter Mary Varnom and grandson Thomas Varnom and grandaughter Ann Varnom the sons and daughters
of my Late Daughter Ann Varnom the sume of ten Pounds apeece of Like and Lawful Money to be paid by my said Executor unto them Respectively as soon as they
shall Respectively attaine the Age of twentey one yeares As to All and Singular the Rest and Residue of my Real Estates which I shall dye seized of or entitled
unto I give and dvise the same and Every part and parcel there of with there and every of there Appurtenances unto my said wife Mary Rixon and
Assignes for and during the Term of her natrurall life but my Will and meaning is that the same shall be in full barr and sattisfaction of her Dower
or thurds at Common law which she may have or cleame of unto or Out of All or any part of my Freehold Estates and from and immediatley after the
decease of my said Loving Wife Mary Rixon I do heare by give and devise all and singular the said rest and Residue of my said Reail Estates which
I shall dye worth or intitled unto with there and Every of there Appurtenances unto my said son Robert Rixon his heirs and Assigns for Ever
as to all the Rest and Residue of my Moneys Securities for Moneys Stock of Corn cattle goods Chattles and Personall Estate after payment of my
Just Debts legacies funerall and Testamentary Expenses I give and bequeath the same and Every part thereof unto my said son Robert Rixon
his Executors Administrators and Assigns and I do nomonate Consitute and appoint my said son Robert Rixon Sole Executor of this Last Will
and Testament heare by Revoking All former Wills by me at Any time heretofore made and do declare this Only to be my last Will In
witness ware of I have to this my last Will and Testament containing one sheet of paper sett my hand and seale this tweneth Day of Oct'r
and in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and seventy seven

This will was proved at Oxford on the fourth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety five before the reverend John Cox clerk Bachelor of Laws surrogate of the Reverend George Turner clerk Master of Arts Official principal of the Reverend Archdeacon of Oxford lawfully constituted by the oath of Robert Rixon the son and sole executor therein named to whom administration was granted being first sworn duly to administer.
