There is a lot of crossing-out. Perhaps she suddenly realised that she wasn't leaving enough for son John.
It's possible that "son" Edward Saunders is from an earlier marriage -- there is a 1638 Charlbury baptism of Edward s. Edward & Anne -- but anyone who wants to explore Smiths is welcome to try.

  • I give the following to my son Edward Saunders:
    • The hanging of my own bed.
    • Three coffers, a box, the bed and bedstead in the further chamber the little table and frame there
    • The table and frame in the hall, three chairs three joined stools and the great brewing kettle
    • Four other [illegible] brass kettles a little brass pot a warming pan, a skimmer, a basting ladle, a beef fork, a pair of andirons, the hanging over the fire and a cupboard.
    • The brewing cowles, two drink barrels with the stills they stand on two pewter platters, a pewter candlestick and a flagon.
    • Two pairs of sheets, half a dozen napkins and a short table-cloth.
  • I give my gold ring to my granddaughter Anne, daughter of my son Edward Saunders.
  • I give a Fawlin(?) sheet to be divided between my granddaughter Elizabeth Smith and the younger daughter of my son Edward.
  • I give all the rest of my goods to my son John Smith whom I make sole Executor, to deliver all the above bequests within one year after my decease.

In the name of god Amen I Anne Smith of Charlbury in the County of Oxford widdow being weake in body but sound and perfect in mind and memory doe make my Last will and testament in manner and in forme as following; First I bequeath my soul to god who gave it mee trusting in the merrits of Jesus Christ for remission of my Sinnes: And my body to the earth from whence it came And to bee buryed at the discretion of my Executor And for the temporall it hath pleased god to Lend me I give and bequeath as following
Imp[rim]is I give to my Sonne Edward Saunders the hanging of my bed that I
    ly one and three Coffers and on box and the bed and bedsteed
    in the further Chamber and Little table and frame there and
    the table and frame in the hall and three Chaires and three Joyn
    stooles And the great brewing Kettle and four other _  __ brass Kettles
    and A little brasse pott on warming pan a skimer a basting ladle a

    between them
And Lastly all the rest of my goods I give to my Sonne John Smith whom
    I make my Sole Exec'utor of this my last will and testament And
    hee to deliver all the said guifts and bequeathes within one yeare
    after my decease
In wittnesse whereof I have here unto sett my hand and seale the
nineteenth day of January in the 27th year of our Sov[er]aign Lord
