CH209. Transcribed by a member of Charlbury Society Historical Research Group. There is a lot of crossing-out. Perhaps she suddenly realised that she wasn't leaving enough for son John. It's possible that "son" Edward Saunders is from an earlier marriage -- there is a 1638 Charlbury baptism of Edward s. Edward & Anne -- but anyone who wants to explore Smiths is welcome to try. In the name of god Amen I Anne Smith of Charlbury in the
County of Oxford widdow being weake in body but sound and
perfect in mind and memory doe make my Last will and testament
in manner and in forme as following; First I bequeath my soul
to god who gave it mee trusting in the merrits of Jesus Christ
for remission of my Sinnes: And my body to the earth from whence
it came And to bee buryed at the discretion of my Executor And
for the temporall it hath pleased god to Lend me I give and bequeath
as following
