Thomas Spier In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Spier of Standlake in the County of Oxon Yeoman do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say I recommend my Soul into the hands of God my maker and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently intered at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named and as for my worldly Estates with which it hath pleased God to bless me with I dispose thereof as follows (that is to say) I give devise and bequeath unto my loving wife Ann Spier her heirs and assigns for ever all that my dwelling house wherein I now inhabit and dwell situated and being in Standlake aforesaid together with the outhouses Buildings Courts Yards gardens backsides and also that dwelling house and Shop which joins to my above named house which is in the possession of Zechariah Besson Wheel Wright also that Close going by the name of Pecloas also that my house and close abutting upon Standlake Common now in the possession of William Bellinger Also that my close going By the name of WillCloas now converted into a Copice also that piece of meadow ground half an acre more or less called by the name of Stonamhook also half a yard land lying and being in the Parish of Standlake aforesaid also half a yard meadow ground and all the Cow Commons also a piece of meadow ground lying in Sidnam now called by the name of the Baley of Norlidg All which is before described all which I lately purchased of William Camden Sq: [sic] Also I give unto my loving wife Ann Spier her heirs and assigns half a yard land meadow ground and Commons thereunto belonging which I lately purchased of John Huckwell and others with all the Appurtenances thereunto Also I give unto my Wife Ann Spier her heirs and assigns all the ten Acres of land meadow ground and Commons with all appurtenances which I lately purchased of Richard Alling Also I give unto my wife Ann Spier her heirs and assigns all that my messuage and tenement out-houses buildings yards gardens orchards with all appurtenances which I lately purchased of Ed: Toolley and Elizabeth his wife all in Standlake aforesaid Also I give unto my loving wife Ann Spier her heirs and assigns all that my Messuage and tenement out-houses gardens and Hop-yard and a cottage common thereunto belonging which I lately purchased of William Cruch and Mery his wife of Curch Hambrow near Woodstock lying and being in Standlake aforesaid and all the above bequeathments all being and lying in Standlake aforesaid Also I give unto my wife Ann Spier her heirs and assigns all that my quarton land meadow ground and commons which I lately purchased of Richard Kent being and lying in Aston in the Parish of Bampton Also I give unto my cousins John Spier and William Spier of Southligh sons of my brother Ed: Spier deceased and unto each of their heirs to be equally divided all that close which I lately purchased of Mery Perey which goes by the name of More Cloas in Standlake aforesaid And I do appoint my loving brother John Spier and my friends Thomas Trester and William Warnar Trustees for my said cousins (John Spier and William Spier his brother) to let and receive the profits of the More Cloas for the use of my above named cousins until the year of the age of twenty one Also I give unto my son William Spier one shilling Also I give unto my son James Spier one shilling Also I give unto my daughter Hannah Spier one shilling Also all my moneys goods and chattels whatsoever with which God has blessed me I give unto my wife Ann Spier whom I make constitute and appoint Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made I do publish and declare this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament contained in one Sheet of Paper I set my hand and seal this 27th day of July in the twenty sixth year of the reign on our Sovereign Lord George of Great Britain ffrance and Ireland King Defender of the ffaith &c Anno Domini 1753 Tho: Spier /-/ Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the Presents of us who in his presents subscribed our names as Witnesses W'm Holmes Sam'll Cuer Sarah Hughes This Will was proved at London before the Worshipful Arthur Collier Doctor of Laws and Surrogate of the Right Honourable Sir George Lee Knight also Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully consitituted on the twenty first day of March in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and fifty four by the Oath of Ann Spier Widow the Relict of the Deceased and the sole Executrix named in the said Will to whom administration was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased being first sworn duly to administer. |
