In the name of God Amen I Smith Stilgoe of Dadington in the County of Oxon yeoman being weake in body but of sound and perfect mind memory & understanding (praised be God therefore) doe make my last Will and Testament in manner & forme ffollowing (Viz't) ffirst & principally I Com'itt my soule into the hands of Almighty God my heavenly ffather hopeing assuredly through the merritts death and passion of my blessed Lord and Saviour of all my sinns and to Inheritt everlasting life and my body I Com'itt to the Earth to be decently buryed at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named and as touching the disposition of such Temporall Estate God hath been pleased to blesse me with I give and dispose of the same as ffollows Impr'is I will that all my debts and funerall Expences be paid and discharged Item I give and bequeath unto my Loveing sonn Zacharia Stilgoe the sum'e of sixty pounds of lawfull English money to be paid him when he shall Attaine the Age of One & twenty yeares Item I give and bequeath unto my Loveing daughter Anne the sum'e of One hundred pounds of like money to be alsoe paid her when she shall Attaine her Age of One & twenty yeares But incase either of my said Children Zacharia or Anne shall depart this life before they shall Attaine their Age of One and twenty yeares leaving noe issue behind them then I give the legacie or portion of such of them as shall soe happen to die unto the survivor of them the said Zacharia and Anne to be paid when they shall Attaine the Age of One & twenty yeares But incase both of them shall happen to die before they Attaine their respective ages of One & twenty yeares leaving noe issue behind them then I give and bequeath unto my Loveing brothers Hugh Zacharia Nathaniel & James Stilgoe the sum'e of twenty pounds apeece of lawfull English money And alsoe to my Loveing sisters Mary the wife of John Griffin Elizabeth and Anne Stilgoe the sum'e of twenty pounds apeece of like money to be paid unto them respectively within three months next after the decease of the survivor of my said Children Zacharia & Anne And incase either or any of my said brothers or sisters shall happen to die before the legacie herein before bequeathed shall become due and payable unto them leaving noe issue behind them then I give & bequeath such legacie or legacies herein before bequeath unto such brothers and sisters as shall soe happen to die unto my surviving brothers and sisters to be equally devided between them share & share alike And alsoe incase of Death of both my said Children without issue as aforesaid I doe further give & bequeath unto my Sister in Law Hannah Maynard of Clifton Spinster the sum'e of twenty pounds to be alsoe paid her within three months after the decease of the survivor of my said Children Butt incase she shall happen to die before the said legacie shall become due leaving noe issue behind her then I give the said sum'e of twenty pounds unto my brother in Law Samuell Maynard of Dadington aforesaid Brassier And my will & meaning is that My Loveing wife Katherine shall have the use & advantage of All my Stock & personall Estate whatsoever soe long as she continue a wid: she provideing for the maintenance & education of my said Children Zacharia & Anne But incase she shall happen to marry I will that she forthwith pay the said sum'es of sixty pounds & one hundred pounds unto my ffather Zacharia Stilgoe and Brother in Law Giles Hanwell whome I doe hereby appoint Overseers of this my last will & testam't or give such security as they shall approve of for the paym't of the same att such time as is herein before menc'oned & appointed for paym't thereof And my further will & meaning is that my s'd sonn Zacharia att his age of One & twenty yeares shall alsoe give security unto my s'd Overseers to pay unto my daughter Anne the sum'e of sixty pounds of lawfull money when he shall be possessed of or Intitled unto the lands and tenements settled upon my Intermarriage with my said wife and incase he shall refuse to give such security then I give the s'd sum'e of him unto my said daughter Anne to be paid her att the Age of one & twenty yeares Item I give & bequeath unto my s'd Overseers Tenn shillings apeece desiring them to be aiding & assisting to my wife & Children what in them lies All the rest of my goods chattles & personall Estate whatsoever I give & bequeath unto my Loveing wife Katherine whome I make sole Executrix of this my last will & testam't hereby revoaking all former wills by me att any time heretofore made In Witnesse whereof I the s'd Smith Stilgoe have to this my last will & testam't sett my hand & seale this seaventeenth day of January Annoq' D'ni One thousand Seaven hundred and Six Signed sealed published & declared as & for the last will & testam't of the s'd Smith Stilgoe in the p'sence o Smith Stilgoe (O) Edward Bates?
