  • To my son-in-law Jeremiah Francklyn £100.
  • To my two daughters-in-law Mary Townesend and Elizabeth Townesend £10 apiece.
  • To my daughter Catherine Francklyn £10.
  • To my grandson John Townesend, son of my son William Townesend, £10.
  • To my granddaughters Elizabeth Townesend and Mary Townesend, daughters of my son William, £10 apiece.
  • To my grandson John Francklyn £10.
  • To my granddaughter Elizabeth Sanderson £10.
  • To my four grandchildren the sons and daughters of my son John Townesend £10 apiece.

In the name of God Amen I John Townesend of Oxford Mason
doe make this my last will & testam't. Imprimis I give to my Son
John Townesend One hundred pounds, To my Son in Law
Jeremiah ffrancklyn One hundred pounds, To my Two daught'rs
in Law Mary Townesend & Elizabeth Townesend Ten pounds a peece
To my daughter Catherine ffrancklyn Ten pounds, To my Grandson
John Townesend Son of my Son William Townesend Ten pounds
To my Grand daught'rs Elizabeth Townesend & Mary Townesend
daught'rs of my said Son William Townesend, Ten pounds a peece
To my Grandson John ffrancklyn Ten pounds To my Grand daught'r
Elizabeth Sanderson Ten pounds To my ffour grand children Sons &
daught'rs of my said Son John Townesend Ten pounds a peece
To my God daught'r Catherine Sanderson ffive pounds, All w'ch
Legacys I will shalbe paid w'thin Twelve months next after my
decease, And my will is That if either or any of my said
Grandsons or Grand daught'rs shall dye before his her or their
Legacy or Legacys respectively shall become due or pay'ble that
then the Legacy or Legacys of hime her or them so dying shall
goe to the Brother or Sister or Brothers & Sisters of him her or
them so dying equaly betwixt them. All the rest of my goods
& chatles whatsoever I give to my Son William Townesend whom
I make Sole Executor of this my last will & testam't. In Testimony
whereof I have hereunto putt my hand & Seal the Eighth day of
March in the ffirst year of the reign of our Sov'eign Lord George
the Second King of Great Britain &c Annoq' D'ni 1727.
