In the Name of God Amen I Robert Whitfield of Wicklesham Lodge in the Parish of Greatf ffarindon in the County of Berks Yeoman being in good health of body and of sound and perfect Mind and Memory Praise be therefore given to Almighty God for the same and considering the certainty of Death and the uncertainty of the time thereof Do make and declare this my present last Will and Testament in manner and form as followeth (that is to say) ffirst I will and devise that all my just Debts and ffuneral Expenses be paid and discharged by my Executrix hereinafter named
Item I give and bequeath unto my Son Hungerford Whitfield the sum of two Shillings and six Pence of good and lawful Money
Item I give and bequeath unto my Son Robert Whitfield the sum of two Shillings and six Pence of good and lawful Money
Item I give and bequeath unto my Son William Whitfield the sum of two Shillings and six Pence of good and lawful Money
Item I give and bequeath unto my Son in law Thomas Strong the sum of two Shillings and six Pence of good and lawful Money
Item I give and bequeath unto my Son in Law Thomas Brittain the sum of two Shillings and six Pence of good and lawful Money
Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter in Law Mary Belcher the sum of two Shillings and six Pence of good and lawful Money
All which said Legacies I order to be paid by my Executrix hereinafter named
Item I give and bequeath unto my Son in Law John Brittain the sum of three hundred Pounds of good and lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid to him as soon as he shall attain or come to the age of thirty Years by my Executrix hereinafter named
Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter in law Sarah Brittain the sum of two hundred Pounds of good and lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid to her as soon as she shall attain or come to the Age of twenty one Years by my Executrix hereinafter named
Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter in law Ann Brittain the sum of two hundred Pounds of good and lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid to her as soon as she shall attain or come to the Age of twenty one Years by my Executrix hereinafter named
Item I give and bequeath unto my Son Joseph Whitfield the sum of three hundred Pounds of good and lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid to him as soon as he shall attain or come to the Age of twenty one Years by my Executrix hereinafter named
All the rest and residue of my Personal Estate Goods and Chattels Monies Securities for Money and all other my Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever not hereinbefore disposed of I give and bequeath unto my Wife Mary Whitfield and I do also make and appoint my said Wife Mary Whitfield full and sole Executrix of this my Present last Will and Testament And I do hereby revoke and make void all former Wills and Testaments by me before made or raised to be made In Witness whereof I the said Robert Whitfield the said Testator have set my Hand and Seal the twenty third day of May in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy one Robert Whitfield Signed Sealed Published and Declared by the said Robert Whitfield the said Testator to be his last Will and Testament in the Presence of us who in his Presence and at his request have subscribed our Names as Witnesses to the same John Shepard W Shepherd Ja Saunders Proved 25 June 1774 (no other details transcribed) |
